〈Comédie〉
‘Comédie’ is a work produced in 2026. The title of the work is derived from a French word meaning “theater” or “drama,” and is translated into Korean as “Comédie.” In Korean, however, the word “comedy” is generally understood to mean a humorous or comic play, whereas in French the term refers more broadly to theatrical works in general, including tragic drama. The work features Hanji (traditional Korean paper) folded into a 'Dong-seo-nam-buk' (origami fortune teller) shape, with intricate curved patterns drawn in pencil. Psyche
‘Psyche’ is a work produced in 2023. It was first exhibited at ‘Contacting presence’, held from December 27, 2023, to January 6, 2024, at Space Cadalogs. Inspired by the myth of Eros and Psyche, the work consists of two smartphones playing videos of tropical fish. While the videos on both devices share the same source, subtle discrepancies arise during playback due to differences in physical conditions and processing speeds, causing the two videos to gradually drift apart. The original one-minute video was divided into frames (1/24 of a second), resulting in 3,600 files played sequentially via Windows Media Player. This process was re-recorded, and despite being performed on the same computer, the limitations of processing speed expanded the footage into videos exceeding five and six minutes, respectively. These expanded videos were then compressed back to the original one-minute duration for playback. -
Choi JaeYeon
‘Choi JaeYeon’ is a work produced in 2023. It was first exhibited at ‘The Good neighbor’, held from May 25 to June 10, 2023, at Art Space 3. The work features a metal frame covered by fabric printed with different digital images on each side, joined together by a zipper. In the first part of the exhibition, the fabric displayed an image presumed to be the inside of an animal’s mouth on one side and a morning glory on the other. In the second part, the fabric was replaced with images of a tropical fish and a woven textile. During the exhibition, one side of the fabric was occasionally removed to expose the underlying metal support. -

‘Alexa Okuwen’ is a work produced in 2023. It was first exhibited at ‘The Good neighbor’, held from May 25 to June 10, 2023, at Art Space 3. In the first part, the work features a structure where fabric printed with an image presumed to be an animal’s torso is joined by a zipper to another fabric showing a plane leaving a contrail across a city skyline. The second part follows the same structure, zipping together an image of an animal’s torso with a fabric printed with images of an envelope, a frame, and a meteorite falling through Earth's atmosphere. Objects such as bracelets, necklaces, dried flowers, and photographs are placed atop the fabric-covered metal supports. The title follows the format of a common foreign name. -
